Cute and Unique Baby Girl Names

When naming your new baby, new parents generally fall into one of two categories:

a) You want to name your newborn after someone you know to honor them.

This generally is the name of yourself (New Mama Jr. or III, or IV), your spouse, your parents, other family, close friends, someone that inspired you (like a teacher or a coach) or someone famous (Amelia Earhart).

b) You want to give your child a name you don’t associate with anyone.

This is when you realize how many people you, and possibly your partner, don’t like.

i.e. Your husband gives a baby name suggestion: Angela Marie. You couldn’t possibly name your child Angela Marie. The school bully who pushed you down in second grade was named Angela and the boss at your last job (that you hated) was named Marie.

What are your favorites out of these names? Let me know in the comments! Do you like some of these but maybe you don’t think you can sell your partner on it? Make it her middle name! Middle names are a great place to put those unique, interesting names.

Still having issues choosing the best name? Have your husband make a list of all the names they like for your little girl, and you do the same. Switch lists and mark any that you like as well. Then take those two lists and use those to make the final decision.

Keep in mind your little darling may not appreciate having to constantly write a long first and middle name when they get older, so you may want to choose one long name and one short name for their first/middle name. Also think of what her initials will spell, you definitely don’t want anything embarrassing for her. Good luck and congrats on your new bundle of love! I’m sure you will pick out a lovely name for your bundle of joy.
