Easy and Inexpensive Baby Shower Favors that Your Guests will LOVE!

Planning a baby shower for yourself, a family member, or a friend? Or maybe someone is doing most of the work for you, but you want to give a personal touch by picking our your own baby shower favors for your wonderful party guests. If either of these scenarios are true, you are in the right place.

Do you have a tight budget for your baby shower (makes sense, you are going to be a parent very soon for possibly the first time and babies are expensive!!) but want to make sure everyone has a little “something” to take home? Or do you want to make a little party favor “bundle” with a handful of super sweet things for your guests so you don’t want to spend too much on one specific thing? Either way, we have you covered.

And don’t worry, you aren’t cheap. You are SMART for wanting to save money on something that some people might just toss in the trash when they get home. Yes, we don’t probably want to think about that, but that’s just the reality. Some people will use your gift over and over and some people will forget about it in their car and then eventually just toss it or lose it. That’s why you might not want to spend a ton on a small, token gift to each of your guests….especially when the point of the event is to shower your baby with love and…let’s face it…gifts. Becoming a parent is expensive, and having the support of your family/friends to help purchase some of those beginning expenses is life changing.

Here is a Iist of Inexpensive Baby Shower Party Favors that your guests will LOVE:

  1. Popcorn in favor bags/buckets with tags that say “About to Pop” or “Thanks for Poppin’ By”
  • What You Will Need:
    • Popcorn is SUPER cheap. If you want to pop it yourself, you can get 6 full bags of popcorn for about $2.00 at your local grocery store (get store brand). For instance, Kroger/Fry’s has their store-brand popcorn (or kettle corn, if you prefer) at a regular price of $1.99 and you get six bags of popcorn that would be able to supply enough popcorn for 18 to 24 people (depending on how big you fill your bags).
    • A homemade/handwritten tag from cardstock with “About to Pop” or “Thanks for Popping By” will only cost you $2 or $3, depending on the size of your tags. You can find single pieces of cardstock at places like Michael’s, JoAnn’s, or Hobby Lobby.
    • Favor bags are fairly inexpensive too. Here is a great option that won’t break the bank ($7.99 for 100 bags) on Amazon:

COST BREAKDOWN:

With everything, those popcorn bags (for 20 guests) will cost you around 49 cents/person.

Total: You will spend less than $10 on 20 guests.

2. Tealight or Votive Candles that are either pink, blue, or a cute design that has a fun saying to make it tie in with a baby shower like “Aloe, Little One!” (if they are succulent shaped candles)

  • If you get plain tealight candles, you can dress them up by stacking 2 or 3 on top of each other and using a pink or blue fabric netting to tie around them
  • If you get a more decorative candle, or one that comes with a holder, you can either just set them up as stand alone or possibly put a tag around them like “Oh, Baby!” or “Thanks for stopping by” if it’s more of a generic candle, or if it was in the shape of a flower, you could put “Baby in Bloom”
  • Almost everyone loves candles, and if for some reason you purchase too many, you will easily find uses for them around the house or as “thank you” presents for coworkers or anyone who couldn’t make it to the shower but contributed a gift for your baby.
  • If someone doesn’t like “fire” or has kids and maybe doesn’t want to light an actual candles, they have cheap, LED candles too that are super cute and affordable.
  • There are so many varieties out there, but obviously, you want to keep the favors affordable. Here is a great, affordable baby shower favor candle option on Amazon:

No one wants to buy something and just know that their guest is going to chuck it in the trash the second they leave.

  • These are especially great for baby showers that invite both men and women. Most men probably don’t want that pink nail polish you had planned to give everyone, but they definitely will appreciate a bottle opener! Women will love this too because it isn’t clutter and they can throw it in their kitchen utensil drawer or in their mini bar.
  • They are cute, come in a box, and a pre-wrapped for you! All you need to do is set them out!
